Verse by Verse on Chapter 1:1-7 of Habakkuk

December 31st, 2008

The issues which Habakkuk saw were no new issues. The children of Israel had long since gone a whoring after other gods. No different from the world in which we live in today. You have those who truly love God, and then the posers who say with there lips one thing, but whose hearts are far from God. They are the people who feel that mixing Almighty God with idols is an acceptable way to live. As long as they feel blessed they feel that God is blessing them and condoning their lifestyle. God doesn’t judge right standing with him by men’s ideas but rather by His standards. Yet God in his infinite love continued to give the children of Israel warnings throughout the entire Old Testament, even as he warns men today.

There was and is always a remnant of people who will not sell out to sin, but will only sell out to him, and those are whom the Father always protects in the midst of the judgement of the wicked.

Here is the study of the first 7 verses of Habakkuk. If you understand these verses you will know clearly what the book of Habakkuk addresses.

READ THE BOOK IN ITS ENTIRETY AND TELL ME WHAT THIS PROPHECY REMINDS YOU OF:

Habakkuk 1

vs.1 The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.

In this first verse we see several things which will be addressed in the book of Habakkuk.

1. there is a burden

2. the prophet Habakkuk see’s the burden

Definitions:

burden: ma??â’: mas-saw’ - the act of carrying something heavy, a taxing, utterance of doom

see: châzâh: khaw-zaw - gaze at, to behold

vs.2 O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

Habakkuk cries/utters out to the lord regarding the burden/doom which he sees. In verse 2 he asks God 1 question and makes 1 statement:

Question:
How long shall I cry before you hear me?

Statement:
I cry to you with regard to the violence that is before me and you will not save! In other words I am still waiting for you to show up and do something about it.

Both the question and statement he makes her are connected. His point is; God i am observing the of the violence before me and I am waiting on you to avenge. Habakkuk knows the character of the God he serves so, he is awaiting the vengeance of his God in this matter. The matter will unfold in the verses before us…

vs.3 Why dost thou show me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.

Definitions:

iniquity: ’âven: aw’-ven- panting of vanity which comes to nought, wickedness; specifically pertaining to idolatry, unrighteousness

grievance: ?âmâl: aw-mawl’- toil, wearing effort, mischief, misery, perverseness

Here is verse 3 the prophet asks another question, and makes another statement.

Question:
Why are you (God) showing/allowing me to see grossly unfair behavior/immorality, and causing me to see/observe mischief/perverseness/misery?

This question is an inquiry to a holy God whose character Habakkuk is sure of.

His question of why is a question of how long do i have to watch this atrocity before you avenge… Why am I still looking at this madness?

Statement:
In his statement he (Habakkuk) describes the madness/mayhem, the burden/misery he is observing.

Here is the burden/misery:

Destruction and intentional damage which is being done.

WHO IS DOING THIS VIOLENCE???? The children of Israel among them who are unrighteous

He mentions that people are causing anger/bitter/heated disagreement over fundamental issues.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE AND WHAT ARE THESE ISSUES????The children of Israel, there issues are as follows:

4Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

Note to self: anytime you see the word therefore you should always find out what it is there for.

The word THEREFORE denotes a reason. Therefore turns your attention to what was spoken before it. Whatever you see before the word therefore, tells you what the therefore is there for.

In this passage Habakkuk says due to:

1. The fact that my continual crying out has not resulted in your vengeance

2. The violence that is before me

a. the iniquity (panting of vanity which comes to nought, wickedness; specifically pertaining to idolatry, unrighteousness)

b. the grievance (oil, wearing effort, mischief, misery, perverseness)

c. Destruction and intentional damage which is being done.

d. the anger/bitter/heated disagreement over fundamental issues.

THEREFORE (as a result of these things):

1. the law is slacked - THE LAW OF GOD IS NOT TIGHTLY UPHELD.

2. judgement never goes forth - JUSTICE REGARDING THE LAW OF GOD, RIGHTEOUSNESS… NEVER HAPPENS

3. wicked, idolatrous people surround on all sides; the righteous - THOSE WHO ARE IDOLATROUS SURROUND IN WICKEDNESS THOSE WHO ARE RIGHTEOUS.

5Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

NOW THE PROPHETIC WORD TO THE RIGHTEOUS AMONGST THE HEATHEN (UNRIGHTEOUS)

God is speaking through the prophet Habakkuk to his righteous amongst the unrighteous. He speaks to his people regarding the work that he would do in the midst of them. What is this work? He was speaking of the vengeance of his people before the unrighteous, idolatrous amongst them.

His first word BEHOLD: râ’âh: raw-aw’ - to SEE, GAZE UPON JOYFULLY

here’s what they are to see:

6For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwelling places that are not theirs.

God tells his righteous that he will raise up the Chaldeans; a nangry and discontented group of people who are rash and recklessly hasty.

God says these Chaldean people who are rash and recklessly hasty shall march through their land and take it over.

more of the character of this Chaldean people who were to take over the land…

7They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

1. Terrible: frightful

2. Dreadful: ones causing fright

3. their judgment and their dignity shall proceed: their lack of judgement and character will go before them

This posting was inspired by a gentlemen that I have known for many years. We have been in heated discussions with regard to the Word of God most recently. This particular subject on the book of Habakkuk was posted to his webpage and falsely, erroneously explained.

This false teacher goes about inciting the emotions of innocent people who trust him.

His posting was Titled ” Give a Yet Praise”

Upon my reading of the false explanation that he’d given regarding the book of Habakkuk, and what he’d founded his religious feel good title, yet praise on, I offered the true explanation based on the Word of God. He rejected it of course. I was fine with the fact that he didn’t want to accept the truth as supported by scripture, however he deleted my comments which could point others to the truth. This is what I have a problem with.

Matthew 23:11 –Matthew 23:13 KJV
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Several characteristics of false teachers are these:

1. They do not like to be exposed - exposure causes them to lash out.
2. They do not give bible support for their opinions - they speak in cliches’, religious rhetoric, and songs rather than scripture.
3. They are liars - during our discourse he continuously put words in my mouth, and inferred many other things (see the pdf) Word Twisters…
4. They are hidders - my posting was erased from his site (see pdf)

2 Timothy 3:13 –2 Timothy 3:17 KJV
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

NEWS FLASH FOR ALL TRUE BELIEVERS!!!!

Stay focused on the Word of God. Know the word of God for yourself and do not depend on the opinions of men. The Character of God is consistent in scripture… it can not and will not change… EVER!!!!!

Your Spiritual Acuity Matters

December 22nd, 2008

Recently I responded to a Facebook “friends page” concerning a blog he posted with regards to the Pagan Roots in Christmas.

He made a comment stating facebook not being the forum for us to discuss our dispute, so I have brought it into another setting to allow my subscribers to participate in this discussion.

I am exercising my scriptural responsibility and posting my response to his last group of responses here on my blog in an open manner where all can post. I do not believe in deleting posts. Even those which may disagree with my position on things.

The scripture says this:

Romans 10:13 –15 (KJV)

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

It is my job as a sent one of God to preach his Gospel in totality. To preach the gospel of God in season and out of season as Paul told Timothy, and be ready to give an answer to every man that asks me a reason of the hope that is in me.

2 Timothy 4:2 –5 (KJV)

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

1 Peter 3:15 –17 (KJV)

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

If you would like to read the original conversation and text to bring yourself up to speed you can download a pdf file of it here. Facebook | Tim Cross Blog

For clarity sake, I will post his comments in italics and respond in kind.

Tim Cross:
I would say simply that if that’s where you are then that’s where you are. This is proably not the format for saying what I want to say. However let me say this.. and I beleive you know this ..woman of God

PROBLEM #1:

This discourse was made public the minute he posted his blog and encouraged comments.

If the discourse is made on a public blog and we are discussing it back and forth, at what point does it need to become of a different format? As a matter of fact, what exactly is the proper format for the discussion, if not in the setting where it began?

Tim Cross:
No one is going to go to hell because of sinining…!!! You dont go to hell because of what you do!!! You go to hell becaue of who you are!! You will go hell…because you are a sinner!!!!! period… That’s Bible!…if you want to accept it or not. We are saved because of God’s grace….not by works!….(or because we aint got a tree with presents under it!!) you surprize me.

I want to make one thing clear before we continue: which you will notice throughout our entire discourse. There is no mention of the Word of God as a support for the things which he speaks so strongly? ZERO SCRIPTURAL SUPPORT!

Luke 4:4 (KJV)

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

In Luke 4 Yeshua responds to one who loves to interject his own ideas (Satan) avoiding the facts of the Word of God. But even Satan used the Word of God during the conversation with Yeshua…. How can any believer live apart from the Word of God? It is not possible! How can we hold a discussion about the things of God without ever making a reference to what He has to say on the subject?

Romans 10:17 (KJV)

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

This alone gives reason for red flags. God’s family lives by his words and not the words of everyone else.

Yeshua said this:

John 10:27 –30 (KJV)

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.

God’s Word is the manual for life, not man’s ideas or what he thinks it should be.

The Book of Proverbs clears this false mindset up for any who will hear.

Proverbs 14:12 (KJV)

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 16:25 (KJV)

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 29:25 (KJV)

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

and the famous….

Proverbs 3:5 –8 (KJV)

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

The “preacher” says people won’t go to hell for sinning: He’s says it will be because of who they are..

Let us first define the word sin:

Sin
Greek - hamartia , a falling away from or missing the right path).

To be completely accurate we must use his exact words. The Word he actually used was sinning which means a continual falling away from or a continual missing the right path.. Sinning would be a continual act, this continual act tags the person who continues in this act as a sinner. Who the person is is what the person does continually…..

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

Let’s Start with the Old Testament AND Reinforce it with the New Testament:

Adam in the Garden:

Genesis 2:16 –17 (KJV)

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

What brings death? SIN!!!!

Romans 6:23 (KJV)

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Cain and Abel:

Genesis 4:3 –5 (KJV)

And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

Genesis 4:6 –8 (KJV)

And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

1 John 3:15 (KJV)

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

Noah and the people of his day:

Genesis 6:9, 11-13 (KJV)

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

OK, WE DON’T HAVE THE TIME TO GO ON AND ON AND ON…

I don’t understand how one can separate what one does from who they are? A person who steals (ing) is a thief. A person who lies (-ying) is a liar. What you do is the fruit of who you are. The two go hand in hand. The bottom line is sin separates us from God. Yeshua came to destroy the works of the devil, (sin is one of those works) thus restoring us back to the Father.

The discourse with this guy completely reminded me of how the Pharisees and Sadducees were always trying to play on words when having a discourse with Yeshua. Trying to catch him up. They had no clue what the Word of God meant other than the points of the law in their raw form. But, no depth of what the law was for or that it was God’s way of giving an unruly people a way to get to him.

This “preacher” says that man will not go to hell for what he does (sin)….

Hebrews 12:14 –17 (KJV)

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

2 Corinthians 6:14 –18 (KJV)

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2 Corinthians 7:1 (KJV)

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

There is no dispute that salvation (the gift) is not received based on our works

Romans 5:6 (KJV)

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Romans 5:8 (KJV)

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:19 –21 (KJV)

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

SALVATION:

so-tay-ree’-ah
rescue or safety (physically or morally):—deliver, health, salvation, save, saving.

But it is maintained by our obedience (works) to the Word of God.

Philemon 2:12 –16 (KJV)

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Revelation 3:5 (KJV)

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Yet after you’ve received salvation (the gift) YOU MUST WORK IT OUT… MAINTAIN IT, DO WHAT’S NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH..

WORK: (Greek)

katergazomai
kat-er-gad’-zom-ahee
to work fully, that is, accomplish; by implication to finish, fashion:—cause, do (deed), perform, work (out)

1st - 3rd John is clear on how we as believers ought to live and gives clear insight into who is and who is not the Father’s.

Tim Cross:
The word worship means : to give something more worth ….than something else. I dont know about you..I dont know of any real christians that are worshiping trees!! You have got to be kidding!

What worship had to do with our conversation I know not, but it was mentioned. Since it was mentioned let us find out what the Word of God has to say about WORSHIP.

Worship is not defined as acceptable based on man’s opinion but by God’s standard.

GOD’S STANDARD OF WORSHIP IS IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH:

John 4:23 –24 (KJV)

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

IN SPIRIT:

You allowing the Holy Spirit of God to lead your worship. That means you give him what he desires and not just whatever everyone else is doing or what you want to give him. To many do this, expecting he should just receive them.

How did that work out for CAIN?

IN TRUTH:

Truth is the Word of God. So everything true believers do should be done according to his word. Without these two elements there is no Worship of the Father. There is worship of something or someone else….

So how does putting a tree in our houses and decorating it worship him in spirit or in truth? But being led of his spirit and following his word is what he desires and what he seeks…

Deuteronomy 12:31 –32 (KJV)

Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Back to his comments:

Tim Cross:
Krstal..you and I can take any group of verses and make it fit anything that we want

Having the ability to do something doesn’t mean that one will do it. My choice is to live by the Word of God. Not by the whims of men. Therefore, it is not my nature to take the Word of God and twist it. I have and will continue to give clear reference to the Word of God, when discussing anything. Why, because his truth is what makes men free. Not the modified lies of men.

Tim Cross:
so your verses that you quote is entirely out of context. The point that any good Bible schloray knows is that you have to 1. teaches as a whole!! Not just one or two verses that you quote..but if that’s where you are..then that’s where you are.

I am still trying to work this one out in my head. Because we have the ability to do evil, it means that I have done evil, as he disagrees with my choice of scripture. NOTE: he doesn’t disagree with the origins of the holiday, just my choice of scripture. Yet, he uses none.

If you check out the PDF you will clearly see that not only did I use more the a few verses of scripture, I also used them in context. Yet the context is disputed. He gives no correction to my “error” or misusing context, so to speak. He just says that I misused the Word of God, because, again, he doesn’t want to accept what God said.

Galatians 6:1 (KJV)

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Tim Cross:
There is NOBODY that will stand before God and he says: Oh…you are not my child because you had a Christams Tree..I cant let you in…that’s not the BIble I read and study. You have tottally misrepresented the Old Testament … Read Moreverses..totally!!

HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE TO IT ALL…..

Matthew 7:13 –23 (KJV)

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Here is some more working out your salvation:

Matthew 7:24 –27 (KJV)

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Tim Cross:
But like I said this isnt the forum..or the format for it. By the way…the Sheperds celebrate the birht of Christ…it’s recorded in scripture….

I am posting the Word of God for your review and you tell me where it says that the Shepherds celebrated the birth of Christ.

Luke 2:7 –20 (KJV)

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Praising the Father in heaven, not the baby…READ IT!)And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. (GOING TO SEE, AND CELEBRATING ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. THE BIRTH OF THE SAVIOR WAS PROPHESIED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT AND THEY WERE GOING TO SEE WITH THEIR EYES THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY. HOW IS THAT A CELEBRATION?) And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. (STILL NO PARTY/CELEBRATION. THEY WENT AND PUBLISHED WHAT WAS TOLD TO THEM TO PEOPLE ABROAD) And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. (THEN THEY WENT BACK TO TENDING TO THEIR FLOCKS, GLORIFYING GOD (THE FATHER IN HEAVEN) FOR ALL THAT THEY HAD HEARD AND SEEN)

I’d say this scripture is a perfect example of a previous quote of his:

Tim Cross:
“Krstal..you and I can take any group of verses and make it fit anything that we want

but hey..if that’s your mission to let people know they aint going to heaven because they Celebrate what you deem as pagan holiday…..go ahead..I’l continue to work with addicts, homeless people, weekly…those that care less whose got a tree or not..those who want to know that a God loved them so much …he gave his only son to die for them…caus ehe wasnt mad at them….but he was (and is) mad about them!! becaue like Paul says..show them the sam comfort…that you received..

You dismantle the rest… I’m bored with this guy. COMPLETELY!!!

Jeremiah 10:2 –4 (KJV)

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

If he commanded you to NOT LEARN THEIR WAYS, then learning and observing their ways is considered sin to him. Yah think????

This is why you must be spiritually sharp and aware of what the Word of God says. This is a man who stands in a pulpit and preaches to others the “supposed gospel.” (????)

BEWARE!!!!

Word Faith Teachers - Did they get it all wrong? Pt 2

December 19th, 2008

Lets continue the topic of dealing with the teachings of the Word-Faith movement.

2 - Is Faith a Force?

The Word-Faith movement teaches that faith is a force, that can be wielded as necessary to obtain the things “promised” us by the word of God. However that teaching is in error.

As a child growing up under Faith teaching, I accepted this as so because it appealed to me in like manner as “The Force” in the Star Wars Trilogy. However I struggled with it as a teenager and woke up when, again, I read the scripture for myself.

Lets 1st start with the definitions of faith as utilized by scripture (New Testament)

The word Faith appears in the New Testament (KJV) approximately 223 times

There is one major greek word for faith:

pistis - persuasion, credence or conviction

And one variation:

little faith - oligopistos: lacking confidence

Lets delve a little deeper:

persuasion: a belief or set of beliefs
credence: belief in or acceptance of something as true
conviction: a firmly held belief or opinion

SO our faith is what we believe. Or to lend it more emphasis, it’s what we believe strongly.

That is what the word means.

What does force mean? As is commonly use in Word-Faith circles, it means:

mental or moral strength or power.

Of course I think, to the deceptive teachers, it means coercion or compulsion, which the bible expressly teaches us does not please God.

So here we are. A Simple, Basic Word study shows us that Faith is what we believe. Period.

Not a force. The teachers lied.

But lets go further.

James said this:

James 2:14 –James 2:20 (KJV)
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Just for even greater clarity, I want to substitute the word faith in this passage with the phrase “Firm Belief”

Lets read it now….

James 2:14 –James 2:20
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can “Firm Belief” save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Even so “Firm Belief”, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast “Firm Belief”, and I have works: show me thy “Firm Belief” without thy works, and I will show thee my “Firm Belief” by my works.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that “Firm Belief” without works is dead?

Faith is not a force. It is plain and simple what you belief strongly. Not a force.

If you believe your mate will never cheat on you, you act in kind. You don’t give her 20 questions when she leaves the house. You don’t run around checking the GPS system to see where she has been, you don’t check her call logs and dial the numbers back to see who she is calling or speaking to.

You don’t install keystroke software to read her text messages, you don’t sneak and read her emails, check her cell phone text messages and so on.

No, you are so Firm in your belief that your wife will never cheat on you, you do none of those things.

Likewise, the person who believes their mate will cheat on them may do all those things and more. Why? Because they are persuaded that their spouse will cheat, or is cheating, on them.

In Romans you read the following:

Romans 10:17 (KJV)
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Lets do our simple definition substitution (as this word faith is the greek word pistis)

Romans 10:17
So then Firm Belief cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

There is a certain consistency here. Note, however, in this passage, you are to develop your strong belief by Hearing the word of God. In My humble opinion and in personal practice, that means hearing the word of God read aloud. The Bible on Tape and your own personal “reading aloud” time. Again, this is JUST my opinion.

The teachers who try to convince us faith (as described in the bible) is a force, are the selfsame teachers trying to lead us away from Faith in God and his dear son, into humanistic Faith in ourselves.

Now, I will say this, Not ALL of the teachers got it wrong.

Fred Price got it right.

In His Book Faith, Foolishness or Presumption, he clearly laid it out.

However in a multiplicity of other areas he got it wrong.

This article here is just one such error.

Remember, a little leaven leavens the whole lump. He got faith correct, but he got other things wrong.

For the record, Faith is NOT the religious denomination you ascribe to.

The phrase “People of Faith” is ignorant. Every person on the planet is a person of faith, in that they “FIRMLY BELIEVE” something. Good or bad, right or wrong, Holy or Evil. They believe something so strongly they guide their lives by it.

The real question is do you Firmly Believe in Yeshuah? In Yahweh?

Are you willing to sacrifice your life to follow Yeshuah?

If you are not, you do not have faith (firm belief) in him. You have acceptance of his teachings and you feel good to be associated with others who “Claim to Know and love him.” But that is not enough.

Being a True Disciple of Christ requires Much Sacrifice. You must Sacrifice your WILL to obey God. Of course when you have made it your lifestyle, it is no longer a sacrifice. You will Glory in doing his work and his will.

Just Like Jesus verbally admitted in the Garden:

Luke 22:42 (KJV)
…nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Until next time. I Love you.

Read the word aloud for yourself. Spend time in The Bible (KJV) and learn his (God and Yeshuah’s) ways. Time is short. Either you are on the Lord’s Side or you will drink from the same cup as Satan:

Revelation 14:10 (KJV)
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

The Puppet Master- Do You Have Strings On You?

December 19th, 2008

puppet 1.jpg

This morning when I arose, all I was thinking about was how many people are being controlled by puppet masters and don’t even know it.

A puppet master doesn’t get the permission of the puppet he uses, he just starts pulling their strings. He gains the yielded response of his puppets because, puppets don’t oppose or fight his string pulling ways. A puppet has no will and no desire. It only moves because the one pulling the strings moves it.

I’ve noticed that the blank look on peoples faces, and the deadness in their eyes has increased over the years. The one thing I know for sure is that this deadness and blankness is directly related to the fact they allow strings to be attached to themselves and they allow their strings to be pulled. They are content in this, rather than being string free and LIVING life intentionally/diliberately.

May I submit to you the evidence of what I am speaking of?

Thanks, for allowing me… LOL

HERE ARE SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF PEOPLE WHO ALLOW PUPPET MASTERS TO PULL THIER STRINGS:

• The many people whom work 9-5 jobs and every morning hate to get out of bed to go to work.

• The many whom refuse to be independent thinkers and do the things which they are gifted to do.

• The many who have chosen the comfort and certainty of getting a paycheck every two weeks rather than starting that dream or idea. This fear mentality has stifled many a creative business from starting.

They’ve chosen jobs based on someone else’s prodding or suggestions,
neglecting to do the things they are gifted in and love to do, for a living.

BUT WHY?

• They’ve been taught by the puppet masters: (They can’t make a living doing what they love). You see, the puppet masters need slaves and worker bees, and your creative juices are not welcomed or lauded. Just do the job!

I’ve run into far too many people whom when asked why they do what they do, don’t even know. Some have been told that they’d be good at a specific job. Others are trying to please someone by doing what they think will impress them.

MORE CHARACTERISTICS OF PUPPETS:

• There are many people who work more than 2 jobs to “make ends meet”.

• There are many people who get into and stay in deadly relationships (whether business or personal) knowing that they are dying daily as a result.

• Others lack self control and buy everything they see. These are one and the same with those who work more than 2 jobs. The motive behind their mindset is to KEEP UP WITH THE JONES’

God created man with the freedom to choose, yet man allows himself to be controlled by the puppeteers. What a smack in the face of the creator that is. He doesn’t control us, so why should we be controlled by others? I did a video recently about the Nicolaitanes. Yeshua mentioned them in Revelation 2 twice. The first time when talking to the church at Ephesus, and the second time when talking to the church of Pergamos.

He spoke of the Deeds and Doctrine of these people being the thing which he HATES.

Why does he hate their deeds and doctrine?

As I have previously stated, even God doesn’t manipulate and control us, and he created us. So, in essence, if that was his character he’d have every right to do so.

What I am encouraging you to do is take the time to know why you do what you do.
Know why you make the choices you make.

Knowing your failure to decide, has given the puppet master the right to choose for you.

Don’t just exist. Don’t just sit there and allow the puppet masters to put strings on you and control you.

Ephesians 4:14
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Deuteronomy 30:19-20a
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days:

Matthew 13:22-23
22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

and finally….

Romans 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Black Friday Massacres

NEWS FLASH:
PALM DESERT, Calif.– Authorities say two people have been killed inside a Toys “R” Us store in Southern California.

The story in short is:
Two couples with children go to the Toys “R” Us store. As they are in the checkout line the women of these two couples engage in a heated debated which results in one of the women punching and bloodying the other woman’s nose. The two men then began to draw their guns on each other. One man is quicker and the draw and begins to chase the other man around the toy store full of shoppers. As the man is backed into a corner at gunpoint: his gun now drawn, the shooting begins and both men murder each other in cold blood.

New York
At a NY Walmart a male employee is stampeded to death, as lustful shoppers await to enter the store and catch the Black Friday deals. Some of these customers slept over night in the Walmart parking lot, and others rose bright and early to catch the “deals”. Before the stores opening the male employee is stampeded to death as the shoppers did a B & E (breaking and entering) that morning. The shoppers leaned on the doors to the point of opening and although the store was not officially opened, they took no thought for a man’s life, but rather buying the stuff they desired at the best price possible. Although the deals may have been many, the biggest cost that day was the man’s life that was lost. He was murdered in cold blood by savage, brute AMERICANS. Their were no foreign terrorists involved.

Black Friday officially returned to the origination of its name.

• Coined by the Philadelphia police to refer to the massive traffic jams associated with the bargain shopping rush in the 60’s (an implicit comparison to the extremely stressful and chaotic experience of Black Tuesday), the term “Black Friday” has since been used to mark the day after Thanksgiving when the MAD Christmas shopping dash starts. Recently, merchants and media puppets have used the term instead to refer to the beginning of the period in which retailers are in the black (i.e., turning a profit).

Full Circle… (the true spirit of the pagan festival Saturnalia)

• This act is merely a mirror image of what the season of Christ-Mass is really all about. The season began when Roman authorities chose “an enemy of the Roman people” to represent the “Lord of Misrule.” Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures throughout the week. At the festival’s conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities believed they were destroying the forces of darkness by brutally murdering this innocent man or woman.

THE FOCUS IS INDULGENCE AND THEN MURDER!

So I ask: Do you have stuff or does stuff have you?

How far are you willing to go for a couple of trinkets and beads?

The Bible clearly tells us not to store up treasures on earth, but in this me me society of fake believers (hiding behind the generic title “Christian” which is brainwashed by the mass media (through commercials, music etc..), and religious mind screwing institutions (who teach the masses a self centered doctrine); IS THERE ANY HOPE?

For any true believer the focus should be laying up treasures in Heaven.

What does this mean?

It doesn’t mean we can’t have nice clothes and shoes.

It doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a family meal out at a restaurant.

However it does mean these things should not be what we are consumed with in life.

STUFF, STUFF, AND MORE STUFF!

This world is consumed with stuff. The term consumer comes from the same place as consumed. Even though the definition appears to be nicer it’s still one and the same.

Here is it’s true root: Consume

c.1380, from L. consumere “to use up, eat, waste,” from com- intensive prefix + sumere “to take,” from sub- “under” + emere “to buy, take” (see exempt). Economic sense of consumer (opposite of producer) first recorded 1746. Consumerism is from 1944 in the sense of “protection of the consumer’s interest;” modern sense of “consumption as an economic policy” is from 1960.

Yeshua teaches his disciples: (Luke 12:22-34)

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,

what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

23The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

24Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them:

how much more are ye better than the fowls?

25And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

26If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

27Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

28If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

30For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

32Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

33Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

34For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Stuff is not what true believers should seek. God is the pursuit of true believers. Doing his will, fulfilling the call (meeting the needs of others). To pursue anything else is a waste of time. All of this earthly stuff is perishable, but heavenly treasures are eternal.

Unbelievers seek STUFF (Matthew 6:32)

For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Remember this….

Man shall not live by bread (what he consumes) alone but by every word of God. (Luke 4:4)

Note to self:
If you are not ready and willing at the drop of dime to leave all you have behind.. YOUR STUFF! You don’t have it, It has you.

Word faith Teachers - Did they get it all wrong? Pt.1

December 18th, 2008

After years of hearing what the various Proponents and Opponents of the Word of Faith Movement had to say about the TEACHINGS of it’s various ministers, I decided to do my own in depth study into what they taught and what the Bible - God’s WOrd- Has to say about their claims.

I’ll be frank. I grew up at a “Word Faith” church. SO I may have an inherent Bias. However, the things that I could NOT find in scripture I never accepted, which is what prompted my resignation from my “Word-Faith” church organization.

About 12 years ago, God told me to Leave my church, strike out, and do what he called me to do.

Thus I did. And I had the “Eyes of My Understanding enlightened.” - Ephesians 1:18

Through out these Blogs, I will Carefully show scripture that supports or rejects any of the claims I list.
However, my Goal is to find out if Some of the things they taught were right.

Realize this, A little leaven leavens the whole lump (1 Corinthians 5:6). All Scriptures references will come from the King James Version of the Bible. Just because they got one or two things right DOES NOT make them right in all.

Thats what Jesus warned us about, that a lot of truth mixed in with a little lie destroys or transforms the whole thing into that which it was NOT intended to be.

So Come with me on this journey. Lets find out what they did get right in our quest for total truth and knowledge of God and his Word.

1 - Did Jesus Die Spiritually???

Paul wrote (concerning our position in christ and of other spiritual things) in 2 Corinthians 5, the following

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

This passage makes it plain (in context) that God made Him (Yeshuah) sin (the translators added “to be”).

If you read it without the translators additions, it reads like this. For He has made Him sin for us, who knew no sin;

Nothing deep there, no deep revelation knowledge. Just plain english. Yeshua was made sin(ful).

What is sin?
Let’s do a short word study.

Sin - hamartia - offence, sin(-ful)

Yeshua being made sin for us was but one of the works of the cross.

We know that Christ died FOR our sins, but we see here that in order to die FOR our sins, he had to be MADE SIN.

The complaint here is that Christ died Spiritually. Could that Happen? Is it possible. I say, yes it is.

Look no further than the 1st sin and death recorded. Adam and Eve.

Genesis 2:16 –Genesis 2:17 (KJV)
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Here was the command to not eat of the fruit and what the penalty would be. Death.

When we move ahead to Genesis 3 and see the results of sin (death) we see the following:

Adam was afraid - (Gen. 3:9)
The ground was cursed for ADAMS sake - (Gen. 3:17)
They went into Hiding (or into secrecy) - (Gen. 3:8, 10)

These were the instantaneous results of sin.

The freedom they had in God was gone: being naked (exposed for all to see) and not being ashamed. Genesis 2:25

They died spiritually. They were separated from God, cast out of the Garden. Eternal life was no longer theirs. Remember, prior to this, the tree of Life was theirs for the taking (eating)

Genesis 2:8 –Genesis 2:9 (KJV)
8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

On the Cross, when Christ became sin he was separated from God. He “died spiritually”

There is no need to lean on the scripture of “Why has thou forsaken me.” There is too much evidence throughout the bible that sin is spiritual death.

Romans 6:23 (KJV)
For the wages of sin is death;

This is spiritual death first, then natural death. Leading to eternal damnation.

Isaiah 53:12 (KJV)
…and he bare the sin of many, …

Isaiah 52 is an awesome chapter. Take the time to read and meditate upon it.

I could go on and on, but I’ll rest there and allow you to search the scriptures for your self.

Prosperity Doctrine is wrong. Altering the truth of scripture to deceive the people is wrong. But the truth still stands.

How soon do we forget that Satan Counterfeits everything of God.

The lie is all around us, but the truth is before us. Stay on that Narrow path and you will see the whole truth.

Matthew 7:14 (KJV)
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I Love you, see you next time.

Husband of a prophet.

Teach Your Feet to Praise the Lord???? - Dance Con

December 11th, 2008

DB2E5A01-29CA-4BF1-845F-32C861C6005B.jpg

Psalms 149:3

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

Psalms 150:4

Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

New Con Ministries

The new con is that you can be taught the dances of David. How can such a thing be so, when we have no knowledge of the actual dances of David. Aside from the fact that he danced out of his clothing, we don’t have his choreographic tips and instruction available.

Not to mention the fact that this new breed of “believers” never ceases to covet the position/title of the Jews. However, Yeshua has made the first (Israel) last and the last (Gentiles) first. This new generation of unbelievers passing themselves off as believers don’t even realize the covenant that God has made with the Gentiles.

Quote from their site:

“MDCI is an outreach to Christian believers who are interested in experiencing the Jewish roots of their faith in Messiah.”

Did David dance to worship the Messiah or was it YHWH?? Exposed by their own words, they show their TRUE intent. Be-Aware Beliver. Don’t buy into lies exposed as Good.

God only requires that we worship HIM (not Jesus) in Spirit and truth.

Far be it for them to call it what it really is. a Plain ‘ole Dance Camp.

I doubt David took classes on the art form of danc
